A shop that has been open twenty years knows what is hatching this week better than any forecast. Search by ZIP code or city. This is every fishing shop OpenStreetMap knows about — fly shops, tackle counters and bait stores together, because OSM files them all under one tag and I would rather show you the whole list than guess which is which.

Where this comes from
Where the list comes from. Every entry is harvested from OpenStreetMap into a file on this site rather than queried live, so searching costs nobody anything. OSM files all fishing retail under a single shop=fishing tag, which means a fly shop in Livingston and a bait counter on a Florida pier arrive here looking identical. I have not tried to sort one from the other, because guessing from a name gets it wrong often enough to be worse than useless — check the website or ring ahead before driving.
What I have done is take out the entries that are not shops at all: places OSM has tagged as closed, and mis-tagged records like saddleries and hatcheries that were never fishing retail. Addresses, phone numbers and websites are reproduced exactly as OSM holds them, with obviously broken links dropped rather than guessed at. Nothing on this page is invented.
Coverage of small independent shops is uneven — excellent in some towns, absent in others. Roughly a third of entries are only a name and a map pin, because that is all anyone has mapped. If a shop you rely on is missing, it can be added to OSM by anyone and it will appear here after the next harvest.
On privacy. Typing a ZIP sends only that ZIP to the OpenStreetMap geocoder to convert it to coordinates. Pressing Use my location asks your browser, which will prompt you first, and the coordinates never leave your device — the distance sorting happens locally. Nothing is logged here.
Geocoding is provided by the OpenStreetMap Foundation's Nominatim service under its usage policy: a hard ceiling of one request per second, no autocomplete-style querying, results cached, and attribution shown.
